Mary Battista, DVM

Chief of Staff

Dr. Mary Battista grew up in Winchester, CT. She received a Bachelor’s degree from Cornell University prior to graduating from Cornell’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. During the first part of her career, Dr. Battista enjoyed mixed animal practice, but since 2003 she has been fully committed to small animal medicine and surgery exclusively.

She is a member of the Connecticut Veterinary Medicine Association (CVMA), the American Veterinary Medicine Association (AVMA), and the Litchfield County Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Battista and her husband have two children. Their free time is spent on the endless chores of their small hobby farm where they raise Brown Swiss cattle and Corriedale sheep for the kids who are both active in FFA and 4-H. They share their time outdoors with their happy yellow lab "Duke" and adventurous all black cat "Ripple."

In her remaining free time, Dr. Battista loves to hike, backpack, and go backcountry canoeing and camping. Gardening and bird watching are also favorite pastimes.
